Yamaha launches 'VMAX'

New Delhi: Japanese two wheeler major Yahama today launched its super-bike 'VMAX' in the country priced at Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom-Delhi).

The company also launched limited edition of its 'FZ' series in three variants.

"I am hopeful that these bikes will get the same kind of enthusiastic response as our recently-launched other products got. The company has registered a year-on-year growth of 80 per cent during the month of January to August and we expect the coming months to be also fruitful," India Yamaha Motor Managing Director and CEO Yuki Mine Tsuji told reporters here.

The new VMAX comes with a 1,679 cc engine.

Tsuji said the company is hoping to grap a market share 10 per cent in the Indian bike market by 2012.

The company is also looking for 30 per cent share in the deluxe and premium bike segment.
